13-year-old allegedly killed his grandmother and charged cops with two-by-four before getting shot

North Carolina police said that a 13-year-old accused of killing his grandmother charged at police with a two-by-four piece of lumber when they tried to arrest him.
The Hoke County Sheriff’s Office said it responded to a call for a wellness check at a home on Pearce Place in Raeford at about 9:20 a.m. on Thursday.
‘I can’t even imagine how this happened, truthfully. … I never once saw any of the kids angry about anything. They just seemed like happy, normal kids.’
A second 911 caller said a woman was found unresponsive in the home. Emergency medical services responders pronounced her dead at the scene.
The woman was identified as 68-year-old Connie Linen.
During the investigation into her death, detectives identified her 13-year-old grandson as a suspect, and he was charged with first-degree murder as numerous law enforcement agencies searched for him.
Police said they located the teen inside a stolen car that belonged to his grandmother.
The teen ran away from the car on foot from behind an abandoned mobile home on Black Road in Cameron. Police gave chase and followed him into the woods.
The teenager allegedly charged at police with a two-by-four from a nearby home. Police fired at the teenager and struck him.
He died at the scene, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

A neighbor named Bailey Arndt who had recently moved there said she was shocked by the incident.
“It’s so cliche to say that, but you don’t expect to see it on your own street,” Arndt said. “I just pray for them, that they find peace and find a way to cope with all of this.”
Another neighbor said Linen was nice and friendly, and her grandchildren were always well-mannered and respectful.
“Everybody seemed pretty happy. I can’t even imagine how this happened, truthfully,” he said. “I never once saw any of the kids angry about anything. They just seemed like happy, normal kids.”

Blaze Media Child sex abuse material Crime Michael david booth Mr crafty pants Youtube influencer arrest
Halloween sign at home of ‘Mr. Crafty Pants’ influencer creeps out neighbors after child sex abuse material arrest

A man behind a popular YouTube crafting account for children was arrested for alleged possession of child sex abuse material, according to Kentucky police.
Michael David Booth, 39, garnered over 594K subscribers on his “Mr. Crafty Pants” account, but it was his alleged misconduct on the Kik messaging app that led to his arrest.
‘My heart dropped. Felt sick to my stomach. It was gut-wrenching and eye-opening.’
Law enforcement officials said they were tipped off that child sex abuse material was being allegedly sent from Booth’s account between Aug. 5 and Aug. 8.
An investigation found two photographs Booth took of himself on the account, indicating that he ran the account. The account sent files of children under 12 to other Kik users on at least 10 occasions, and it sent files of children between 12 and 18 years old to other users on at least 15 occasions, according to the arrest citation.
Neighbors noticed a sign at the man’s home that took on sinister tones after the arrest.
“I smell children,” the sign read.
On Oct. 22, Booth was arrested on 25 counts of distributing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor and four other similar counts.
A Jefferson County District Court judge set a bond of $100,000 full cash for Booth on Thursday and ordered that he have no access to social media, to the internet, or to minors.
“You feel like you know your neighbors, but what goes on behind closed doors … I guess we never know,” said Lindsay Smart, a neighbor to Booth. “It’s sickening, it’s disgusting, and I’m glad he got caught.”
“So we walked out our front door on Wednesday to a very heavy police presence,” said Laura Nash, who lives across the street from Booth. “My heart dropped. Felt sick to my stomach. It was gut-wrenching and eye-opening.”
Some users noted that Booth was wearing the same sweatshirt in one of his last Instagram posts as he is in his booking photo.

Parents, grandparent arrested after body of their 7-year-old boy is found stuffed inside freezer, police say

Residents of an apartment complex in Southern California were horrified to after the remains of a 7-year-old boy were found stuffed inside a freezer of their neighbors’ unit.
Deputies were called on a welfare check to the apartment at the complex on Euclid Avenue in Lynwood on Tuesday evening, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
‘This is an unimaginable and horrific tragedy. … My heart breaks for what the other children in this home must have experienced.’
After finding the remains, police arrested 25-year-old Destiny Harrison, the boy’s mother, on suspicion of committing murder.
They also arrested his father, 25-year-old Daniel Monzon, and his grandmother, 46-year-old Ana Zarceno-Carcamo, on conspiracy to commit murder.
The couple had three other children living in their home, and they were taken into protective custody. The children were 16 years, 13 years, and 9 months old.
Police said they were still investigating the incident and offered few details.
“This is an unimaginable and horrific tragedy,” L.A. County Supervisor Janice Hahn said. “I stand ready to support the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department as they investigate this child’s death. My heart breaks for what the other children in this home must have experienced, and it’s critical that our Department of Children and Family Services do everything possible to support them and keep them safe in protective custody.”
Neighbors told KTLA-TV they were shocked by the report and said they had seen no signs of trouble from the family.
“To me she seemed like a normal person,” said a neighbor who did not want to be identified. “The whole time she was here, she was walking her dog right here, and that’s about it.”
“Once I found out it was a kid, I was literally driving home with my gut going crazy,” said Christian Torres, who lives near the location of the incident. “It hurts when you hear about these cases, but when you live them and they’re so close to you, it’s a whole different thing.”

Another resident, who only wanted to be identified as Mia, said no one heard anything.
“That’s traumatizing to know that kid had to suffer like that,” she told KTLA. “A lot of people are trying to figure out what family did this. … How did we not know? How did other people not know? There are thousands of people living around here, and none of us heard a thing or even saw anything on any of the kids.”
The three suspects are being held on $2 million bail each.

3 people allegedly paid hit man to shoot and kill witness in child sex assault case, then killed the hit man

A shocking murder-for-hire plot in Missouri has led to the arrest of three people who were trying to cover up the sex assault of a 15-year-old girl, prosecutors say.
Kcoree Warren was shot and killed at his home on July 8 to keep him from testifying at trial against a man accused of having sex with the girl on March 21.
Klaus himself was killed on the same day, and prosecutors said the white Kia that was seen driving away was destroyed in a fire.
Police said a man named Lavor Harmon met the girl as she was walking home from a school bus and exchanged phone numbers with her. He picked her up later to go shopping and then allegedly had sex with the minor girl at his home.
Warren reported the alleged crime to police, and Harmon was charged on May 19.
About 10 days later, Harmon’s sister Lavonda Harmon went to Warren’s home with another man and offered him $12,000 to keep quiet about the crime. He declined.
Warren was then shot and killed later by Andrew Klaus.
Klaus himself was killed on the same day, and prosecutors said the white Kia that was seen driving away was destroyed in a fire.
Prosecutors say that Harmon was present when Klaus was killed, along with his uncle Anthony L. Young and that man’s son, Anthony D. Young.
Police say they know the identity of the man who went with Lavonda Harmon to offer the bribe, but they have not released that information, and he has not been charged.
Lavor Harmon is being held on a $2 million bond, while both Anthony L.Young and Anthony D. Young have bonds for $2 million on unrelated federal charges.
