High school student allegedly kills classmate with scissors outside science class

Students of a high school in Texas are protesting against the district’s actions after a student was killed by another with scissors right outside their science class.
Aundre Matthews, 18, was arrested for allegedly stabbing 16-year-old Andrew Meismer to death at Ross S. Sterling High School in Baytown on Wednesday.
‘We are not safe. We are not safe here.’
Prosecutors said the two were excused to go to the bathroom and got into a fight over a vape pen.
The stabbing happened during a fight between the two at about 10:40 a.m. The victim was airlifted to Texas Medical Center in Houston but was later pronounced dead.
The school said that it went into lockdown briefly after the incident.
“I need to see that surveillance video. I need to see what happened in terms of all the claims that were read in that probable cause affidavit,” said Matthews’ attorney, Gianpaolo Macerola.
The horrendous incident shocked the community and spurred many students to protest against the district for not taking action to protect Meismer. They alleged that signs of the threat from the suspect were ignored.
“This could have been prevented,” said Maria Blanco, a 10th grade student, to the Baytown Sun. “Now somebody’s life is lost, and when they had the time to do something about it, they did not do anything.”
“We are not safe. We are not safe here,” said sophomore Lilly Williams, who described the victim as “very kind.”

One of the protest signs read, “How many warnings are enough?” and another read, “Our voices matter.”
Matthews was given a $3.3 million bond in court on Friday.

Teens’ story claiming they were attacked unravels after cops find their damning video posted to social media, police say

California police say that three teenagers told them a story that unraveled after the discovery of allegedly contradicting video on social media.
The incident unfolded after a mother in Twentynine Palms called police to report that her 15-year-old child had been attacked by their neighbor, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
One of the teens also tried to ignite curtains to start a fire before they left the residence.
When deputies arrived, they found three teenagers claiming to be victims of assault.
After determining that one of the teen’s accounts had been fabricated, police said they discovered a video on social media that showed what actually happened.
The video allegedly showed two girls and a boy brutally attacking a man who has an intellectual disability. Police said one of the girls slashed the victim’s head and arms with a large kitchen knife while he pleaded for his life.
One of the teens also tried to ignite curtains to start a fire before they left the residence.
Deputies obtained search warrants for the residences of the victim and all of the suspects, and they were able to obtain evidence of the assault, including the kitchen knife.
One of the teenage girls claimed that she suffered lacerations from being attacked by the man, but police determined that she was injured by punching through the actual victim’s window.
The three teens were booked into the San Bernardino County Juvenile Detention Center.

The suspects face numerous charges, including assault with a deadly weapon causing great bodily injury, burglary, and criminal threats. The San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office is considering additional charges as well.
Police are asking for help from the public in their ongoing investigation into the case.

Child sex abuse material found on PE teacher’s phone after he inappropriately touched students, police say

A California physical education teacher allegedly sexually assaulted two students before police found child sex abuse material on his phone, according to the Tehachapi Police Department.
The parent of a student contacted police after the student said they were inappropriately touched by 43-year-old Timothy Seaman. The victim said the incident had taken place on campus.
Police executed a search warrant at Seaman’s home and seized several digital devices, including cell phones.
During an investigation, police found a second alleged victim who had been inappropriately touched at the same campus.
On Dec. 10, police executed a search warrant at Seaman’s home and seized several digital devices, including cell phones. Police said the devices were analyzed by the Department of Homeland Security and the United States Secret Service in Bakersfield.
Investigators were able to extract alleged evidence of possession and distribution of child pornography from the devices.
On Tuesday, police located Seaman in Porterville and arrested him without incident. He was booked at the Lerdo Facility of the Kern County Jail on possession of child pornography and sexual battery of a minor.
Tehachapi police are asking for the public’s help in finding other possible victims.

Seaman can be seen in a video from 2015 when he was a head coach of a high school football team that won an NFL contest and was featured in a documentary for the Super Bowl that year.
“I never imagined in a million years that I’d ever get to go to a Super Bowl for free,” Seaman said at the time.
Tehachapi is a city of about 13,000 residents located in the Mojave Desert about two hours north of Los Angeles.
Artificial intelligence grooming Blaze Media Church child grooming Church sex abuse Crime Volleyball coach grooming
Former volleyball coach used artificial intelligence to groom teenage girl for sex, police say

A former volleyball coach is accused of trying to groom a teenage girl for a sexual relationship and used artificial intelligence to help him plot the scheme, Texas police said.
Matthan Lough, 32, was arrested on Wednesday by Mesquite Police and charged with third-degree felony child grooming.
Those messages allegedly escalated into flirty and inappropriate jokes, and then into explicit messages.
The 17-year-old girl told police that Lough had been trying to persuade her into a sexual relationship with him, including some incidents that took place at the church where Lough’s father served as the senior pastor.
The girl and her mother filed a report with the police on Oct. 2 after the mother found out about the alleged relationship.
Police said that they discovered a “Hypothetical Counter-Influence Plan” on the man’s iPad device during an investigation. The AI-generated plan included steps titled “rebuild her autonomy” and “shift the power dynamic.”
Lough had been grooming the girl since spring of 2023, according to an arrest affidavit.
He allegedly approached her at a graduation party for her cousin, and she recognized him as the husband of a woman who led their worship group. He asked her if she wanted to join a volleyball team he was organizing at the church.
In the fall of 2024, he held tryouts for the team, gave her a spot, and then began sending messages to her about his marriage.
Those messages allegedly escalated into flirty and inappropriate jokes, and then into explicit messages. He also messaged her about possibly committing murders and let her know he carried a gun, apparently to frighten her into staying in the relationship.
The teen followed through with requests from him to send explicit images out of “fear and pressure,” according to her account.
The victim said Lough kissed her at a church event in September. Then later that month, he allegedly sexually assaulted her twice.

The relationship ended when the teen’s mother found the messages and contacted Lough’s wife.
His wife filed for divorce in October and left the state.
Lough’s father also stepped down from his position as senior pastor at the Christian Center of Mesquite.
Lough was given a bond of $10,000 and appears to have been released.

3 dogs escaped from home and mauled man to death before injuring a mother and daughter, police say

The family of a 62-year-old man is mourning his death after he was mauled by three dogs in Katy, according to Texas police.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office said witnesses reported a man mauled by dogs on Monday before chasing off the animals.
Animal control had no previous history with the dogs.
When EMS personnel arrived at the scene, they pronounced the man dead.
Police then found a mother and a daughter who had also been attacked by the dogs near Permission Creek Lane, according to the public information officer Thomas Gilliland. They were transported to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Gilliland said the man’s family went looking for him when he didn’t return home from a morning routine walk.
The dogs were described as pit bull mix.
Police were able to find the dogs, and two were taken by animal control, while the third was shot by deputies and euthanized by animal control. They will be quarantined for 10 days, after which a judge will determine their fate.
Animal control had no previous history with the dogs. Gilliland said authorities had not determined how the dogs got out of the home.
The identity of the man was not released by police.
