VIENNA – Around 40 Filipino civil servants who made contributions to the work of the United Nations (UN) were recently honored at an exhibition of artworks and in a commemorative publication that celebrated the Philippines” role in the inter-governmental organization. The “Hope & Endeavor” exhibition on December 12 launched “A Journey of Hope & Endeavor: 80 Years of the Philippines in the United Nations,” a chronicle of the Philippines” longstanding presence in multilateral cooperation and its part in global peacekeeping, security, and development.

DSWD monitoring welfare of 91k individuals still in 845 evacuation centers

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Tuesday said it is constantly monitoring the welfare of individuals and families who are still staying in evacuation centers and have yet to recover from the effects of recent disasters. As of Monday, December 22, the DSWD Disaster Response Management Bureau (DRMB) said 845 evacuation centers remain operational and are currently accommodating 26,053 families or 91,982 individuals.
