
Marcos suspends disability discharge, promotes Army captain who lost eyes in 2016 blast
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has ordered the promotion of a Philippine Army captain who lost his eyesight in 2016 due to a bomb blast but was issued a complete disability discharge (CDD) from the military. The President also directed the Department of National Defense to review the CDD, which separates soldiers from the service due to physical disabilities that they incurred in the line of duty.
