‘Mumdumi’: Elon Musk Encourages New Yorkers To Back Cuomo
Elon Musk encouraged New York City voters to cast ballots for former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo as the mayoral election approaches.
Cuomo is lagging behind Democratic socialist Zohran Mamdani in most polls. The RealClear Polling average has Mamdani ahead of Cuomo by +14.3 points. Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa trails both of them.
Still, Musk made a last-ditch effort to sway voters.
“Remember to vote tomorrow in New York! Bear in mind that a vote for Curtis is really a vote for Mumdumi or whatever his name is. VOTE CUOMO!” Musk wrote on X Monday.

Sliwa has faced pressure leading up to election day to drop out of the race as part of an effort to build more support for Cuomo, but has time and time again refused to step aside.
His boss even pushed him to do so, but Sliwa continues to dig in his heels.
“Look, I love Curtis; we’ve worked together a lot,” WABC radio host John Catsimatidis said.
“Curtis has to realize that he should love New York more than anything else, and it certainly looks like Curtis should pull out right now,” Catsimatidis added.

More than 735,000 New Yorkers have already cast ballots in the mayoral race, marking a historic turnout for early voting, according to CBS News. It’s more than quadruple the number of voters who participated in early voting for the city’s 2021 mayoral election.
Mamdani, a 33-year-old assemblyman from Queens, has campaigned on championing rent control, increasing taxes on the wealthy, and pulling police funding for social services. The socialist has also faced backlash for criticizing Israel, while repeatedly refusing to condemn the slogan “globalize the intifada.”
The far-left radical has also pledged to allocate $100 million as legal support for illegal immigrants facing deportation.
