Rubio reportedly reveals Trump’s plan to acquire Greenland to bolster US defense

Secretary of State Marco Rubio reportedly told lawmakers that the Trump administration has aspirations to purchase Greenland from Denmark, tempering rumors that officials are considering forcibly seizing the island.
‘The United States is eager to build lasting commercial relationships that benefit Americans and the people of Greenland.’
During a closed briefing on Monday, Rubio and other administration officials briefed lawmakers about the operation to capture Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro and the plans for the country’s future, the Wall Street Journal reported.
Citing individuals said to be familiar with the recent briefing, the WSJ stated that Rubio “played down the idea that the U.S. could seize Greenland by force.” The report claimed that administration officials refused to rule out the possibility of an invasion.
However, the outlet noted that U.S. and European officials have reported no indications that the Trump administration is preparing for a military invasion of the self-governing Danish territory.
President Donald Trump told reporters on Sunday, “We need Greenland from the standpoint of national security, and the European Union needs us to have it — and they know that.”

“President Trump has made it well known that acquiring Greenland is a national security priority of the United States, and it’s vital to deter our adversaries in the Arctic region,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated. “The president and his team are discussing a range of options to pursue this important foreign policy goal, and of course, utilizing the U.S. military is always an option at the commander in chief’s disposal.”
Trump expressed interest in purchasing Greenland during his first term. He has insisted that controlling the island is essential for protecting the Arctic from Russia and China.

“The United States is eager to build lasting commercial relationships that benefit Americans and the people of Greenland,” a State Department spokesperson told Blaze News. “Our common adversaries have been increasingly active in the Arctic. That is a concern that the United States, the Kingdom of Denmark, and NATO Allies share.”
The spokesperson added that Trump is committed to the United States’ relationship with Greenland, underscored by his decision to designate Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R) as special envoy.

‘We’re going to run it’: Trump reveals Venezuela’s fate following Maduro’s capture

President Donald Trump announced that the United States will be running Venezuela following the capture of President Nicolas Maduro.
American military forces conducted a “large scale strike” in Venezuela where Maduro and his wife were captured and transported on the USS Iwo Jima. Following the operation, Trump announced that the United States is “going to run” Venezuela until a “proper transition can take place” in the government.
‘It was dark, and it was deadly.’
“We can’t take a chance that somebody else takes over Venezuela that doesn’t have the good of the Venezuelan people in mind,” Trump said, flanked by Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and other officials. “We’ve had decades of that. We’re not going to let that happen.”
Trump also said American oil companies are going to “go in” and “fix the badly broken infrastructure.”

Maduro and his wife were indicted for their “campaign of deadly narco-terrorism against the United States and its citizens.” Both are en route to the Southern District of New York, where they will be tried.
Trump also noted that no American servicemen were killed in the operation and all military equipment was recovered.

Maduro captured following ‘large scale strike’ in Venezuela, Trump says

Nicolás Maduro was “captured and flown out” of Venezuela after the United States carried out another strike, President Donald Trump announced.
After months of anticipation and several strikes against alleged drug cartel boats, Trump greenlit the most aggressive military action of his second term in office.
‘Maduro was arrested by American officials and will stand trial in the United States.’
“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” Trump announced Saturday.
“This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow.”
Trump is expected to speak at a Mar-A-Lago press conference at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with several Republican senators about the capture, noting that Maduro was arrested by American officials and will stand trial in the United States.
“[Rubio] informed me that Nicolás Maduro has been arrested by U.S. personnel to stand trial on criminal charges in the United States, and that the kinetic action we saw tonight was deployed to protect and defend those executing the arrest warrant,” Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah said in a post on X. “This action likely falls within the president’s inherent authority under Article II of the Constitution to protect U.S. personnel from an actual or imminent attack.”
“The interim government in Venezuela must now decide whether to continue the drug trafficking and colluding with adversaries like Iran and Cuba or whether to act like a normal nation and return to the civilized world,” Republican Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas said in a post on X. “I urge them to choose wisely.”

Trump administration keeps Christ in Christmas in official holiday messages

In the spirit of the Christmas season, many departments of the Trump administration wished people a merry Christmas this week. And in most cases, they remembered to keep Christ at the center of the message.
In a video reposted by the Department of Labor, Fox News highlighted posts from Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner.
‘Merry Christmas, America. We are blessed to share a nation and a Savior.’
The Department of Labor’s post was captioned, “Psalm 33:12. God Bless America.”
Psalm 33:12 reads: “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for his inheritance.”
Secretary of State Marco Rubio posted on X: “The joyous message of Christmas is the hope of Eternal Life through Christ. Wishing everyone a blessed holiday season filled with hope and peace.”

Rubio’s post included an illustration of the Nativity scene with the words of Isaiah 9:6 below.
In a separate post, the Department of State wrote: “Wishing the American people a joyous and peaceful Merry Christmas.”
“The Infinite has become an infant,” Housing and Urban Development Secretary Scott Turner wrote on X. “As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, we are reminded to adopt the humility, love of neighbor, and servant leadership that Christ embodied.”
Likewise, the Department of Homeland Security’s X account posted a short video of some of America’s beautiful landscapes with the caption, “Rejoice America, Christ is born!”
The DHS posted another video with nostalgic Christmas footage accompanied by the caption: “Merry Christmas, America. We are blessed to share a nation and a Savior.”
In a humorous post, the Department of Energy posted an image of Santa Claus carrying a large sack of coal with the caption: “Merry Christmas! Coal isn’t just for the naughty this year.”
Earlier in December, the White House posted video of President Donald Trump saying: “With the birth of Jesus, human history turned from night to day. His word and his example call us to love one another, to serve one another, and to honor the sacred truth that every child is specially made in the image of God. Merry Christmas!”
