Public library board voted to keep pro-transgender book — so the county dissolved the entire board
A North Carolina county government has chosen to disband its public library board after the group refused to take down a book that advocated for the transgender agenda.
The controversy involved the “Call Me Max” book that tells the story of a girl asking teachers to refer to her by her chosen identity rather than the biological reality.

The board in Randolph County had reviewed the book and found that it fit within the county’s guidelines in October. Dozens of people attended that hearing to voice their opinion about the book.
The nine-member library board was then disbanded by the Randolph County Board of Commissioners by a vote of 3-2.
The North Carolina Values Coalition had previously described the picture book as an attempt to “groom children towards transgenderism at very young ages” and actively opposed its inclusion.
The group applauded the decision to dissolve the board.
“‘Call Me Max,’ recommended for 5- [to] 9-year-olds, teaches children that their parents may be wrong about their gender and that their gender is actually whatever they feel it is,” read the statement from their spokesperson to Blaze News.
“Planting this lie in a child’s mind at a young age can lead them down a harmful path of social and medical transitioning,” the statement continued. “Public libraries should never expose children to books that cause them to question their gender or include other inappropriate sexual content.”
The author of the book, a transgender-identifying individual named Kyle Lukoff, said that the actions of the county board were alarming.

“Policies can be helpful, but this is ultimately a question of power,” Lukoff said. “If there are people in power who believe trans people don’t belong in their communities or the world at large, they will twist those policies to make it a reality.”
While disbanding a public library board is unusual, it is within the power of the county organization.
Voters of Randolph County supported President Donald Trump by an overwhelming margin — nearly four to one.
The commissioners have not indicated when they will reconstitute the library board.

Conservative political group fined $95K after correctly identifying male athletes competing with women in Australia
A traditional gender activist group has been fined in Australia for the “vilification” of two transgender-identifying males who competed in women’s sports.
The Binary Australia advocacy group was found guilty in August of identifying the athletes and exposing them to ridicule and hatred from critics of the transgender agenda.

Binary Australia spokeswoman Kirralie Smith said the fine was an infringement on her free speech rights and said the group would appeal the ruling.
“It is disappointing that the word ‘woman’ has been redefined to include males and that the words ‘violence’ & ‘vilification’ have been applied to speaking the truth about information in the public domain,” she wrote on social media.
“Australians should be very concerned about their freedoms,” she added. “Women have effectively been erased from law and attempts to advocate regarding public policy are shut down for the sake of the feelings of a few.”
Transgender activist Heather Corkhill of Equality Australia praised the ruling and accused Smith’s group of inciting hatred and violence.
“These women were subjected to horrendous harassment online, including being publicly identified, outed, and misgendered,” Corkhill said of the male athletes.
“People who target vulnerable minorities to incite hatred and fear need to be called out and stopped,” she added. “Smith and her supporters are out of step with the law, out of step with community values, and out of step with modern Australia.”
The 95K in Australian dollars equates to about 63K U.S. dollars.

“Males should never be permitted to participate in female sport. As a registered third-party political campaigner and a woman, I should have the right to advocate for this without being penalized,” Smith continued.
“The law might state men can be women, but it defies the laws of nature and cannot be sustained,” she added. “Nothing will steal my joy in knowing that I am a woman and no male ever will be. I am proud to stand for truth and reality.”

JK Rowling crushes Glamour UK magazine for awarding ‘Women of the Year’ to 9 trans-identifying males
Many are criticizing Glamour UK magazine over its choice for “Women of the Year,” but popular author J.K. Rowling is leading the pack.
The magazine is giving the award to nine transgender-identifying men, including a DJ, an author, an actor and TikTok creator, a chief executive, and several people identifying as models.

“As trans rights face increasing threat in the U.K., Glamour honours nine of the community’s most ground-breaking voices at this year’s Women of the Year Awards,” reads the justification from the magazine. “From fashion and music to charity and activism work, these trailblazers work tirelessly to empower, uplift and celebrate trans voices.”
Rowling posted her dissent from her social media account Thursday.
“I grew up in an era when mainstream women’s magazines told girls they needed to be thinner and prettier,” Rowling wrote. “Now mainstream women’s magazines tell girls that men are better women than they are.”
Others similarly criticized the total erasure of biological women from an award for women.
“They’re not women. They’re not trailblazers. They’re misogynistic bullies who borrowed our clothes, put on some lipstick, and then took everything we earned. We are not costumes. And we are not silent,” writer Virginia Kruta of the Daily Wire responded.
“Glamour is a magazine for young girls. It was toxic enough when I was a teenager, pushing unrealistic beauty expectations. I can’t imagine what young girls must be thinking now, you hold men up as ‘Women of the Year’ erasing women and girls, an absolute disgrace,” another response reads.
“Yes, yes, they got a bunch of men with mental illness to pose for their womens magazine,” a popular response reads. “We understand that you think the best women are actually men. Thankfully the world is starting to wake up to that nonsense.”
The magazine’s social media account replied to Rowling with a mocking message.
“Better luck next year Jo x,” Glamour UK wrote.
